Bonn and Antwerp (cutural weekend)

The main square in Bonn, the old capital of Germany, before Berlin this is the cathedral the rainbow people were having a party. (gays)

the unhappy face (bit small) is Beethoven in front of the post office in the main square, the best way to find the shops of any town is look for the spires of the churches, that was where all the poeple traded/ sold there wares years ago.
Antwerp on the water front looking at the Cathedral of Our lady, it is huge it was holding a reunion of von Quinten Metsijs and Bis Peter Paul Rubens as the both came from Antwerp,
The very impressive railway station,

The city Square, you forget that these house were built in the 16th century and people still live in them,

Inside The Cathedral of Our Lady, this is one wing of the all the paints were life size of Christ and his followers so to take photos with no flash was a challange and the light was poor with large paintings.

Hans van Elburcht (the Miraculous Draught of Fishes) 190 x 167 cm painted c.1560

The Lead light was amazing the size is huge, on the left of photo the brown wood is the pipe organ it is 5 meters off the floor hence it is up with the lights,
Christ hanging on the cross he is life size, the top of the cross is 8 meters from the roof and the bottom is 8 meter from the floor, that's a Rubins above the Alter,

Peter Paul Rubens (The Descent from the Cross) c. 1611-1614 the centre panel oil 421cm x 311 cm.
